German for Specialization I introduces learners to foundational German language skills in a structured, interactive learning environment. The course emphasizes practical communication, grammar application, and vocabulary acquisition, allowing students to engage in daily life scenarios in German-speaking contexts. Tools such as Showbie, digital coursebooks, and video resources are integrated to enhance comprehension and participation. 

Students develop core competencies in reading, writing, speaking, and listening while applying grammar rules to real-life situations, including ordering food, discussing travel, making appointments, and describing cities and workplaces. Interactive assignments and digital projects support self-assessment and progress tracking, making this course suitable for learners aiming to analyze and interpret information in German.

What You’ll Learn 

  1. - Develop foundational German language skills (A1.1, CEFR) to communicate basic ideas in everyday oral and written tasks.  

  1. - Apply grammar rules and vocabulary including articles, nouns, separable verbs, modal verbs, and topics such as family, work, food, travel, and leisure.  

  1. - Interpret, analyze, and produce texts in German for practical, real-life contexts.
